When you are a high school student in the USA, no matter where in the country you spend your exchange year, you will learn that some of what you’ve seen in films and on TV is actually true. The school spirit, the cheerleaders, the yellow buses and the football teams for example. They do exist and you can experience it all in real life.
Beautiful nature, open spaces, great outdoors and wild animals. Canada is the world’s second largest country where people are friendly and living is easy. It is easy to understand why the country is attracting a growing number of international high school students.
Australia is a nation that is industrialized and prosperous with modern urban areas. In other words, a modern country with exciting big cities. But it’s also a big continent with fantastic wildlife, coral reefs, snowy mountains and great open spaces. There are both deserts and rainforests, two complete opposites that very well summarize that Australia has it all!
The trip is long, but it’s worth the effort. New Zealand, approximately 2 000 kilometers east of Australia, consists of two main islands and lots of smaller islands of sensational beauty.
A high school year in Argentina will give you a wonderful mix of cultures and indigenous traditions. And your Spanish will get a powerful boost. This is a big, bold and beautiful country with many different landscapes and different climate zones.
Exchange students will enjoy the Latin American spirit of the Chilean culture. European influence is clearly felt in Chilean art, architecture and music. The geography of Chile is perhaps the most impressive: the country extends some 4300 km from the desert north to the glacial south. As a result, exchange students will discover a huge variety of landscapes and weather conditions.
