What is A-Level?

A Level is the education offered to 16-19 year old students in the UK education system at the high school level and pre-university education. After 2 years of education, students can apply directly to the university that offers the departments related to the courses they have taken.

The duration of this program is two years. The student must take at least 3 courses in total during his/her education. Generally, 4-5 courses are taken. The first year of education is AS Level, that is, Advanced Subsidiary Level. Students who successfully complete this program can also apply to the best universities in England by earning the A Level qualification at the end of the second year.

Why A-Level Program?

According to the education system in England, students who have graduated from high schools in other countries do not have the qualifications to start university and must go through an additional education to determine which university they can study at. For this reason, students who have completed high school in different countries have to study foundation for one year in order to receive undergraduate education in England and countries close to English education. However, students studying the A-level program can apply directly to the university without reading the foundation year.

A Level Program Process:

A level consists of two stages and 6 units. The duration of the program is 2 years. Students can choose any subject related to science, literature, science, social sciences and art. But in order to be educated in a good university and in a good department, mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology courses for science, medicine, engineering; For business, humanities and law, courses in mathematics, accounting, economics, psychology and English literature should be taken.

Foreign students have the right to apply to universities in England by completing AS Level (Advanced Subsidiary Level) in the first year and A Level in the second year. In both years (AS Level and A Level), students must take the same courses. It is recommended that students choose four courses in the first year and choose these three courses in the second year. In addition to the success of the student during the education period, students have to take the exam held at the end of the year, that is, in June. Students who fail this exam are given the right to retake the exam in January. Students are required to get successful grades in 3 or 4 courses.
